The Turks Head on Dublin's Parliament Street in the heart of town is a 'superpub' and it is huge. There is a large area on the ground floor as you enter, it can be crowded during the week and is especially packed at the weekends. The atmosphere is crackling over the weekend
with all the latest chart music playing and a lively mix of people dancing around.
Head downstairs and the same is true. The service is okay but could be better
considering there seems to be loads of bar people and the fact that they seem to
only serve one person at a time. The drinks themselves are fine but are expensive.
If you do head here watch out for the steps as there a small ones all over the place.
Recommended for a good night out with friends or just to meet people and boogey.
It can be quite difficult to get into the Turks Head because the bouncers can be fussy at times, especially if you have any drink taken. Best to get there early!
Sidenote: This pub does not open until 5pm in the evening.
Why's this a super pub? Staff are far from helpful and need training in what a decent pint is like. When in here be careful what you're drinking .Considering they're surrounded by good 'pubs' you would think they would make an effort.
The Turks Head is a beautiful bar i enjoy meeting my mates in the evenings, later on the door men might refuse reentry, the music could do with updating it is a little cheesy esp at weekends. over all a relaxed atmosphere the decor is amazing.
Bit of a strange Pub in that there appears no real focus. The pub if a bit low and there is no obvious place to get served. Or maybe its that the bar staff aren't very good.
Not a bad spot is lively with a good atmoshere and good music. Bar Staff are good but could improve their customer relations. Pints are okay but nothing to write home about. Steps all over the place so be careful you dont mince yourself. the toilet attendant in the gents is a really cool guy. James. Give him loads a tips and he sprays you with good aftershave. Gives you gel and chewing gum. Beware of the bouncers outside. They are pig ignorant.
Turks Head, the best pub in Dublin, with a marvellous people who will give you the most exciting night of your life, dont forget to go there, "It's a beautiful pub, don't let it get away!!!"
Lively it certainly is. Would have similarities in terms of atmosphere and clientele as Down Under. Whether that is a good thing or bad thing is up to you. Noisy and busy with a suspect crowd (for me anyway) but worth a look if you want a late bar near Temple Bar. Gets a bit too packed, especially downstairs.
The Turks Head was my favorite spot until they started serving lifeless beer. The Heineken was dead so I asked for another, which too was dead, so I asked for a Budweiser which was dead and so too was the Carlsberg. Looks like they were selling stale beer. Bar man got very agressive too. Won't be returning too soon.
Disappointed a bit. Guinness was only extra cold, atmosphere was good though. Nice big bar, but not much room around it. A good place for a couple, but not an all nighter.
SUPERPUB, The Turks Head definitely is, I go to the Turks head every time I am down in Dublin and I have to say I never get sick of it, the atmosphere, the music, the men, all great and the bouncers weren't bad craic either. Definitely well worth the visit. Word of warning, do look out for all the little steps all over the place though, there quite hard to master, when you've had one to many vodka!! All in all a great night out is guaranteed in The Turks Head!!!!
Best pub I saw in the whole Dublin. i remember all these nights there with my friends from around the world. Basically, don't make a mistake so do not miss it. U'll like it, that's 4 sure!
