Being a Tourist/stranger to your shores.Ifound the Willows a frendly localpub with good ale & beers. Frendly locals we laughed, and argued about football(they must be thick in there ,as they wouldnt have it that Millwall are the best team going) Made me and my Family feel very welcome over the week I was in the area.Good boozer with old men, pub dogs, football sport etc good banter and jokes. Some of the bar staff were a little slow , but hey it takes a while for good guniess.I was welcomed by the natives and will sending over some football items for some of the lads.I was a stranger and was made very welcome, good on you the Drinkers of the Willows and I will return again next year.
A lovely local pub, friendly bar and lounge staff, open fire, booths and round tables catering for groups of all sizes. Separate lounge and bar areas, and function room available upstairs. Fantastic pint of Guinness!
Every time I have visited this pub I have been made feel very uncomfortable in it, I drink in the lounge when I'm there and find the older bar staff unfriendly and unwelcoming, to the extent of ignoring me to serve their more "regular" customers first. I drink in a young crowd who are constantly watched in case there's too much noise made and I find this to be very unfair. All in all, The Willows would not be my first choice...it would be nice to be greeted with a smile!!
