An excellent, unpretentious, genuinely local pub which might seem "offbeat" but is in reality only 10 minutes' walk from George's Street. Most pleasant beer garden/yard, perfect for hot summer afternoons away from the pavement-table hungry mobs of early evening drinkers in town. The interior is not as old-style as the exterior, but simple and pleasing nonetheless. Regular live sessions and a lively and mixed bag of locals and blow-ins from the ever-exapanding apartment complexes nearby. Does lunches. Stocks Budvar. Good Guinness. Very friendly staff. While in the area, have a pint in the nearby, and equally excellent, Fallons. I've moved from the area and miss both pubs dearly.
