Description:
Casual with Music and Late Bar.
Review:

The Sugar Club situated on Leeson Street is one of the finer venues in Dublin we have been too. Upon entering (there's a cover charge) the stage is on your right while the bar is located on the back however it's what's in between that's spectacular. The seating is laid out cinema like with large cushion seats as well as barstools which are stuck to the ground. While it can be a bit of a hassle getting to and from the bar, the seating is excellent for watching live bands and the comedy slots they host on a regular basis. The service is really good and while it wasn't full to capacity the night we were there, we'd imagine it would remain so. The drinks were a little expensive but no-more than elsewhere in Dublin. There is a spacious area in front of the bar to stand in if you don't fancy seating with a few high tables which offers perfect views of the stage. A good place to head with a few friends or a friend to catch a band or just go 'pot-luck' and enjoy nonetheless, The Sugar Club is a unique venue and all the better for it.

Public Reviews:
- Great place for gigs if you prefer a relaxed atmosphere rather than a floor full of drunks screaming at bands.
I've been there a couple of times and enjoyed both visits. The beer's expensive and limited to mainly lesser known brands but everything else is top notch although the venue is a little out of the way.
Pros: Great laid back atmosphere, Good smoking spot, perfect view of stage wherever you are, good standing area and great sitting area, Good and quick service no matter how busy it is.
Cons: Prices, lack of choice
Highly recommended!

- Sprang up a couple of years ago just off the Green, giving punters a new reason to wander towards Leeson Street! The Sugar Club isn't a pub per say, more a cocktail bar, what it offers is a very good standard of live music and entertainment until very late in the evening, 2-3am from Thursday onwards... There is generally a cover charge which before 10pm is cheaper, there are original bands on most nites or comedy and with its cinema style surroundings (very plush banquettes, etc. good for a group of five or so) and table service it is very comfortable!! After midnight this place becomes really lively, lots of beautiful people come out to play and dance in a very friendly atmosphere and it is a good alternative to a traditional nightclub... The Sugar Club also boasts some of the best and funniest live residency bands after midnight and if you pay a visit on a Friday night you are likely to run into one of the better groups... A venue that must be visited, pick an original band you like, stay late (bring cash though, it ain't cheap) dance and be merry... Be warned however there is a very limited selection of beer on draught, and no, the stout is not the one you'd expect! But like the M***hy's, I'm not bitter...

- Sugar Club is an excellant spot, a tad bit expensive for beer and other beverages but worth a trip. Would highly recommend the music table quiz held there but be careful of being vocal of the bands as may cause offence to other customers, also best Halloween decorations ever
