I worked in the Shelbourne and helped in the bar so know it well. If you want to go a place and watch for celebrities (U2, the Corrs, and any other celebrities who might be staying in the hotel) this is the place. The clientel can be VERY snobby, but if you treat the bar staff nice you will be rewarded with them being kind to you too. The food is very nice too and is made by the same chefs that make the food for the lounge and 27 restaurant. Will recomend watching rugby in here when they have the big screen up. Worked the Rugby Weekend when it was England v. Ireland and the atmosphere was brilliant. People where all singing everything from "pretty woman theme" to "Dirty old town" at the top of their lungs. But if it Christmas stay clear of this place because you'll encounter the worst snobs in Dublin. If you want to feel like a part of the rich and famous this is the place. If you want to meet nice people then go some where else (like Jack Nealons or Sean O'Caseys)
