Review: The Long Miler on the Long Mile Road is currently being redeveloped at the moment however by the looks fo the renovations, it is going to be a large spacious area. In the meantime, they have a small lounge/bar area remaining open throughout the renovations. Upon heading in on a Friday evening about five, the first thing I noticed was the amount of (presumed) locals in the pub perhaps dropping in for a quick one after work. Two TV stations were on, one showing Horse Racing, the other the news. As I waited for a friend, I ordered a pint which was good value, excellently served and tasted good. Although seats were at a premium, I did manage to get one at a table after being invited to so by a local. Tthe atmosphere was friendly and at present, The Long Miler is more suited for a one-on-one pint with a friend than a large group however when the renovations are finished, we will definitely be going back to check it out.
