Review: The Globe is a cafe bar situated on Georges Street. It is a small little 'pub' that fills up quite easily due to it's size. Seats are at a premium in this pub so you'll be lucky to get one. There is a DJ playing music at the back wall which takes up a lot of space. Service is swift, the staff are nice and friendly but drinks are expensive. During the summer, there is usually a couple of tables placed outside so you can drink in the open air (and watch the Georges Street traffic pollute your drink). This pub is not a personal favourite of mine as it is not a pub in the true sense (I suppose it doesn't claim to be), it's just doesn't seem to fit in to any type and loses a lot of it's appeal after one visit. Go to this pub if you're young, cool and trendy and you will have a good time though. |
