Review: The Gin Palace is situated on Middle Abbey Street and has a side entrance on Liffey Street under the name Tapas Bar. The bar/lounge area is L-shaped and although quite small, it offers a good atmosphere. The service is excellent and the pints are reasonably priced for the city centre. The barstaff are friendly especially the floor staff who when you finish a pint will ask if you would like another one. On the Saturday afternoon we dropped in, there was also a good food selection. There is also a large screen telly at the corner of the 'L' which was showing a rugby match. The only minor drawback was the location of the toilets which were at the top of a 'long' staircase. However, this is only a minor drawback. If you're looking for somewhere to relax with a couple of pints with friends, The Gin Palace will suit you down to the ground.

- A note to ladies: do not wear a short skirt as there is glass beside the stairs and everything can be seen on your way up to the toilets, very nice pub otherwise

- A strange mix of a bar that doesn't know what it wants to be, one half imported antique fittings to create the auld dublin pub look, the other half a poor mans yacht finish of veneers, tipping its hat to something more urban. this is made up for by the great staff and food. now split on a 50/50 basis smoking and non.
- Is this a bar that serves food or a restaurant that serves beer? That is what you would have to ask yourself as you enter Tapas bar! You will be tantalised by the fantastic menu which ranges from normal pub grub i.e Burgers,Baguettes etc.. to various Tapas dishes. Almost every customer will be eating when you enter the bar which seemed to me and my partner to be a very good sign. We sampled the Combo Platter between us which gives a large range of the various items on the menu. The food along with the fantastic beer or a few G+T's( only 4euro ) makes for a very enjoyable dining experience. The staff seemed to be split into two areas, i.e. food and drink, however both worked with and complemented each other. We were not left waiting which is always nice. I would recomend Tapas as a place to go for luch when shopping or it would also be good for starting the night with tremendous food before setting out to the Dublin night.
- Not a bad place during the week for a quiet pint but Tuesdays there seems to be a Spanish armada. Lot of them talking loud and drinking a little. The service is great for drink & food. The 4 euro Irish coffee is good for a pit stop in the city. 9 out of 10.
- The friday/saturday/sunday we were there it was SAVAGE!!!! the lowdog says he loves the place... the breen-dog says "would you like a biscuit??"
