The Corner Stone is situated on Wexford Street and is a fine little pub. Mostly
wooden and with (perhaps) the most comforatble seats in Dublin (black leather!)
this pub is ideal for a couple of pints. The pints are not too dear and taste
great. The friendly barstaff are very efficient with their service. Music is playing
in the background and is not too loud so it won't interupt any conversation you are having
and is not too low so it won't annoy you. Recommended.
An unusual mix tends to frequent this spot. With it's
setting right beside Kevin St College you would expect a very studenty feel but it
couldn't be further from this. It is actually a mixture of 19 to 30 something year olds,
students and city workers. The pricing is City Centre with some of the bottled beer working
out incredibly expensive. The seating is comfortable though it can get very crowded. It stays open very late at the weekend and the staff are friendly and efficient. There appeared to be no dress code policy. The music was very much of the background nature and it is very much a place you would go in a group on a girls night out not wanting to be hassled or with a mate for a chat as opposed to a fun lively bar type of atmosphere.
It is a great building, both inside and out, great craic and has a late bar. Guinness is 3.50 Euro, lager 4.10 and the place has pleasant doormen, lovely leather seating and candles
