Review:
The Bank is a new pub which is a welcome addition to the pubs of Dublin. Upon entering, a host/hostess warmly greets you and opens the door (vice-versa on the way out). The bar is situated in the centre of the spacious 'lounge' area and offer 180 degree serving and the service by the excellent barstaff is brilliant. The pints while a little expensive, taste superb. The building itself used to be a bank (obviously) and remnants of it's old purpose still remain - safes in the toilet. The roof is amazing in it's design and well worth a look for this purpose alone. The atmosphere is conversational, in fact it almost reminds you of a train station, and all the better for it although there is very low-key music playing.
This is the sort of pub to head into for a few drinks with friends or for a bite to eat during the day.
A couple of things stood out, the small section upstairs which has what has got to be the smallest bar in Dublin and also watch out for the unisex toilet upstairs - it can be a bit confusing at first when you enter to find a member of the opposite s*x waiting to use the one toilet.
All in all, recommended.

Public Reviews:
- One of the best of Dublin! Amazing restauration...you really feel in the middle of a XIX pub!

- I visited the bank every single day during my 10 day stay in dublin. the athmosphere of the place is great, the bar staff recognise their clientele and prepare your drink through a nod, people comment on the price of the beer but hey you ain't drinking a pint in a dump now are you?

- I have often been to The Bank and find no major complaints. The doorman can be a bit cocky but some other times he's very friendly. The place can get packed and finding a seat takes a long while let alone getting a drink, but this isn't that bad as you'll always find an intersting character here. I've met some nice people here, there's usually a very laid back mix. The drinks are quite expensive but the barstaff are lovely, I've gotten free shots before, they really value their regulars. The loos are unisex which can be a bit daunting and the downstairs loos are tiny for such a cowded place. All in all, a good location to have a few drinks and head off into town.
