Great Sunday evening music session. It started about 6pm. The fiddle player was awsome. The food was good and we all had such a fantastic time. Lots of other musicians came in and started playing too. GO THERE!!!!
First time in Dublin, staying up the road...stepped out on a saturday night, hoping to find the ultimate pint of guiness. Went to one side of the pub..very nice, but possibly a little conventional, much like Irish themed bars in London, but the black stuff was wonderful,..yes it really is different.....so I wandered of into the traditional side of the pub next door. Well this is what I expected, understated, low key, senior citizens, a fellow singing Irish folk songs...no false conversation, just a slowly poured pint of black gold and a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy it.. stayed an hour or two , just drank and listened,..early start next morning,..but really enjoyed myself..on my own,..great pint, great music, and never said a word to anyone all night... PROPER PUB, PROPER PEOPLE !!
A fantastic place for meeting people. I go here everytime I am in Dublin. I stay in Dublin 2 as my company pays the bill, but I make the short walk over to Lower Rathmines Road for a good time with great people. The food is great and the prices are very reasonable. I hope to see you there when I am in Dublin.
