Description:
Casual Pub w/ Music, Piano Bar & Late Bar
Review:
Pal Joey is situated in the heart of Temple Bar and is a very stylish bar. The atmosphere is very relaxed and it has a metropolitan buzz to it. The leather seating is very comfortable and all three levels are spotless. The service at the bar is excellent but the friendly barstaff and the floor staff are quick to remove the empty pint glasses from you table. The pints are superb and as each pint is served in it's own glass e.g. a Guinness comes in a Guinness glass and so on. The pints are a bit pricey but cheaper than other pubs in the area. On the second level, there is a grand piano and at about 10.00pm it was put to use by a singer and accompanying pianist playing a steady stream of melodic songs from every era. Before they had started playing there was an eclectic mix of sounds playing. It is also open into the late hours when according to the bargirl it gets packed. It opens at 8.00pm in the evenings so if you want to get a seat head in then. Pal Joey is a good spot to go to with a few friends to savour the atmosphere and have a chat and a laugh in it's stylish surroundings.

- Classy bar, lovely decor, friendly bouncers, good music, good place to meet a few friends for a quiet few drinks, open late which is always good!!! Good looking men from the other bars in the area - you can't go wrong!!! Get there before 1 though, it starts to get packed then!!!

- Nice pub, good atmosphere, but as with many of the pubs in dublin, it has the rudest bouncers in ireland!! stopping people for no apparent reason and very ignorant in doing so! always heard about dublin being the drinking capital of the world, but very hard to do so if these guys in suits on a power trip won't let you in! not great for a very touristy area!!
