O'Dwyers has opened it's doors again after a state of the art renovation. There is simply no other
way to describe it's new interior than celubrious. It's like walking into the lobby of a five
star hotel, in fact there is so much to describe that it would take pages to do it justice. There
are now 4 levels in the pub and each has a bar! There is also a veranda area on one of the pubs. When
we dropped in we were thoroughly impressed with this decor but enough of that...what was it really like?
Well, first off it doesn't open til 5 in the evening so takes a while to warm up. While being no means packed
when we went in, we did find it hard to get a seat but evantually found one after scouring all levels. The pints
were a little expensive but tasted fine and that the serivce was top class by both the barstaff and lounge staff.
They also have a good quality food menu and over the course of the night, we did indulge in a very tasty platter.
All said, this is a good pub to head out with a group of friends to enjoy the night in opulent surroundings - and
the bouncers are friendly too!! Trust us, O'Dwyers should be checked out!!
This pub is wheelchair accessible.
Open just over a year since an extensive refurbishment, O'Dwyers is as much a spectacle as a pub. The interior is a sight to behold with 4 floors all decorated to a different, eclectic standard. Prices are typical for Dublin city, not cheap but not as expensive as some spots closer to the centre of town. The beer garden is like a jungle set from a hollywood movie. The entire premises is very large inside and as such, sacrifices atmosphere for style, leaving feeling a little bit artificial. Nevertheless, worth a look if only to see exactly what a few million can buy if you really put your mind to it!
This pub is something to see. There are four floors and at least 3 bars (that I saw anyway). Normally, I'd be distracted by the amazing amount of decoration but somehow it all fits together very nicely. Lots of seating and a friendly bar staff. The music could be a better, but overall its worth checking out.
It has three levels, the main bar on the ground floor, a nightclub upstairs and a band downstairs (from midnight). You can pay 5 (after 10 or 11pm) to get in or go to the main bar earlier and stay for the night. They also have more of an open policy for hen parties it seems (not sure about stags though). Always a lively enough spot, especially at weekends. It is however a bit out of the way from the central area of Dublin. Nice mixed crowd of locals and people from outside Dublin. Can be 'mature' though. Having the variety of "three bars in one" is a plus as you can move around to your own taste. The crowd is respectable and but maybe a bit old for some.
