O'Briens is the sister pub of the Mercantile but has a more
grounded approach. It has a late bar at the weekends serving
until 1.30. The atmosphere is lively with a mainly young crowd
enjoying the variety of music it plays over the night.
The pints are a little expensive. It can get crowded
and as a result seats are at a premium, but the standing area
is large. O'Briens is a good beginning, middle or end to any
night out.
Every time I visit Dublin, my friends and I vow we will see more of the city. Never happens though - we always seem to end up in O'Briens for the much of our stay. Good pint, great atmosphere, (although quiet during the day), and one of those places where time seems to stand still.
