JJ's is located on Aungier Street at the top of Georges Street
in Dublin. It looks like a small pub on the outside and it is.
Downstairs has a cosy conversational feel to it which promotes
good conversation. There is also an upstairs which sometimes
hosts music nights which can range from open mic to jazz. It too
is small and generally has as smokey atmosphere. It is open the
regular pub hours throughout the week. The price of a pint is
very reasonable compared to most city centre pubs. The staff
are friendly and service is good. This pub is ideal as a meeting
point for a quiet chat or to watch a match in.
Best pint of guinness you will have!ask peter and he will put a shamrock on it!cool
A fine example of a Dublin Pub. The bar down stairs is small (not a dissadvantage in my eyes) and welcoming and great for a quiet pint. Upstairs they have regular jazz at a reasonable price. This is a little small as it is very popular but there are a limited number of places where this goes on in Dublin.
Lovely Pub, Horrible toilets (better than some down the country though) The owner is a sound ould chap and he'll talk away to you for hours. Theres a regular who owns a bookies round the corner who'll do impromtu magic tricks but give no tips!Great spot to start the night!
If you like Blues or Jazz you'll love upstairs in this place. Really talented musicians, cozy atmosphere with tables right next to the stage, small enough though! Usually a cover charge for the bands. Great on St. Patricks Day!
