Each time we come to Dublin, we head for Jack O'Rourkes in Blackrock. It is such a comfortable pub, very well run and the food is superb. We had a family party in the functions room last Christmas. Well worth a visit!
Everytime we go to visit my sister and her husband in Deans Grange we have to O'Rourkes. The have the best Sunday Roast and a fantastic staff. Can't wait to be back again!
On Thursday afternoon (a delightfully long weekend) we bought the papers and ambled into O'Rourkes about 2pm for a leisurely lunch. Toasted special with chips for him, open salmon sandwich for me. All very satisfying and enjoyable. followed by two coffees - the small cup type, with little biscuit. His was cold but no hot refill offered when he mentioned this to the waiter, just 'sorry about that, and then we were charged 2.25 for the coffee - each!! Now for a cup that must have cost 5c, that's a helluva mark-up. Such a shame, we won't be back.
Best pint of Guinness in Blackrock by far. The staff are great banter. Who goes to pubs to drink coffee anyway :) The prices are about average. Slan.
Without doubt the best pub in Blackrock. Consistently good pints served by proper Bar Staff. The menu is excellent and very reasonable. You can not beat this place for a Saturday afternoon pint that always leads on to a Saturday evening Pint that leads to a Saturday Night Session.
