The Henry Gratton is situated on Lower Baggot Street and is a good spot
for a pint and a spot of food any time of the day, day of the week. It was
a lovely Saturday afternoon when we dropped in and the place was relatively
empty but there was a few there eating lunch. I, having dropped in for lunch,
had one of the most marvellous Ham Salads I have ever tasted in a very generous
sized portion and very keenly priced.. The accompanying pint of lager was expertly
poured and tasted delicious but it was a little on the expensive side.
The staff were courteous and friendly at all times. Since it was a sunny day, we
opted to sit out front where there are a few tables and chairs. There is also an
upstairs area and every Sunday, there is a live jazz session. The only other minor
complaint is that the toilets can be hard to locate - they're on the upper level
at the back. All said, we would have no problem recommending this pub for a quiet
pint, some craic with friends or just for some lunch. |
