- Nice pub. Locals are VERY friendly as are the bar staff. Plenty of nooks n crannies for having a chat in. Good atmosphere.
- The good:-no kids,no food,no music! The bad:- some pig ignorant barmen, who still don't realise they have a customer service role to fulfill!
- This pub is very cool, it offers the "hospitable irishness" which many places lack, i was very impressed with the welcomes from lounge staff,the drink is BEAUTIFUL, i've never had a nicer guinness.will definately return in due time.customers are very friendly which is a virtue.a true pleasure to drink here.
- Great atmosphere. Definitely a rugby crowd. Really great outdoor space thats heated adequatly.

- Not a bad pub and sometimes there can be a good crowd there. Its srictly over 21's and thats enforced fairly strongly, not a place for a big group of young people!!!
- I visit this pub in November and it is very good. I think price is high but is like that everywhere. People is very nice
- From what i've seen from this pub is, a professional and caring bar staff that actually do care about the customers and quality of service,a new beer garden has been constructed,5 new plasma screens have been installed and a new foreign beer menu has been introduced!
- With its warm irish feeling, happy punters and genuine staff, Harry byrnes offers a unique service needed in this day and age.a broad selection of foreign beers and wines on offer that will even keep granny happy!! who needs food? you go to a pub to drink and have a laugh! exactly whats on offer at this unique establishment, well done Harry!!
- Harry Byrnes is a great example of the modern Dublin suburban 'super-pub'. The front bar still retains the old character of the original pub and it is a nice place for a drink. The back bar was designed to cram in as many 20-somethings as possible. Nice if you are willing to stand all night holding your drink. (I've done it enough times) The beer garden is fine except that it rarely gets any direct sunlight and I have never seen them turn on the gas heaters. There is no food on offer. All the bars do show football on the TVs, but these TV's are old, small and pretty sparse. If they are going to put TVs on then they should splash out and get something that you can see. All in all not a bad place, the barmen are good but I always get the feeling that the owner doesn't really care and is well aware that there is not that much in terms of competition from other local bars.
- What Mick, Kilbarrack,(see review below) says may be true, but for the few times I visited this Pub, I was truly impressed. A fine establishment indeed. I advise, go at off times if you want service. Go later if you want company! My son-in-law's Pub - after baseball meeting place - I enjoyed a few pints of Guinness a number of times. Shall be back in November 2003 - save me a 'space'!
- Quality pub with quality service. Old feel panelled wood interior with open fire in the back bar. Good atmosphere in small beer garden on sunny days with a selection of different size bars inside. Has that home from home feeling. No food available.
- There aren't many pubs on the Northside that bask in their own middle class smugness. But the clientele here are "jumpers over the shoulders" types. This is fine if some basic comforts are available, but there is no seating whatsoever that isn't a wooden bench or a rickety stool. The designer bareness is a mere cover for packing in as many thirtysomething BMW drivers as possible. The toilets are clean but the beer selection is dull and expensive. Food comes in salt and vinegar or cheese and onion and children are banned. The staff don't really seem to give a damn about anyone.
