The bar has been closed for quite while now, smoking ban reduced the numbers going there just like many pubs around the city.
A bit of a find in this end of town, boasting a
mixed crowd. From your more adventurous locals to ex-Hogans crowd who no longer
brave their old haunt on a Saturday night, it is an inviting clientele. The place
is nothing special but somehow it works. Minimal and Dark but with comfortable
seating, night lighs on tables and a very laid back atmosphere.
The backtrack varies. Saturday nights tend towards in-house DJs whereas midweek
music seems to reflect the barmans taste, which is never too far off the mark.
The price is standard citycentre(4.40) pricing but with good lounge staff and you
rarely need to queue when you do go to the bar. The Guinness is good, and there's
a cute Chinese upstairs which smelt great but we failed to sample. There was no
dress code in evidence and the ridiculous 'no runners' rule did not apply.
