Frazers is situated on O'Connell Street in Dublin and is a good spot to drop into to
watch a match, have a bite to eat or just have a chat with some friends over a pint.
We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon about 5.00pm and the atmosphere was quite relaxed.
The service was good by the friendly barstaff. The pints were okay and keenly priced. We had a quick look around and sat in our seats and basically had our pints and left as we had a prior engagement. The toilets were a little bit on the dirty
side but given the day that was in it (Celtic has just played and won), and as
this is renowned pub to watch Celtic in, we can forgive that. Overall, it's a nice place
for a pint with friends.
I usually go to the basement gigs - Drum and Bass/ Techno are the best nights to go to!!! But if you want to chill out and get some food you can start your journey of the pub on the ground floor and work your way through the pub by having a few pints and chilling to good music in a relaxed atmosphere! Hope to promote a few Drum and Bass Nights in the basement very soon
A must for any 'Celtic Fc' supporter that happens to visit this fair city...a thoroughly enjoyable experience awaits you!
Superb Place to watch the mighty Celtic, good bar staff and music, one not to be missed!
Hey, was in gasworks@frazers on thursday for a college social. Place is gorgeous now! It was my mates 21st and we all had a ball, the bar manager brought us our a bottle of chamagne, Im definately going back!! Free Bubbly!!!
Hey, I was in GASWORKS last night for a college social and the place was jammers. The drink is dirt cheap in there! Doormen are alright, they ID everyone but once u got ID your cool. And the women??? They was fine! Good mix of tunes too!!!!
I agree with Audrey. My college run a radio station that we have to fundraise, and someone suggested Frazers as a venue, so we decided to go out there and give it the once over, cause we had heard it was a kip! We went out on a Thursday night, to have a look at GASWORKS, which is the two floor nightclub to the right of frazers, gotta say, its pretty frickin class!
DJ lashed out some classic tunes and the women where worth buying a drink for. Real student vibe to the place, without being scruffy and run down, which wouldnt have matched the interior. I heard they pumped 60k into this place. Anyhow, we are holdin our fundraiser there tonight, 22/9/05, so come along, you wont regret it, and its for a good cause.
Hey, Iwas in GasWorks @ Frazers on thursday night. I was a bit wary of frazers at first as it has a reputation of being a bit of a dive, but the night club is amazing. I didnt even know frazers had a night club, and only went along because it was a college run fundraiser, but now i think i might make it a regular spot. Frazers has spent a fortune and now boast a two floor nightclub, all decked out in red and silver. the dj box looks class, it is surrounded by cool backing lights, like the ones in spirit. the drink was cheap, the music was funky, the crowd where young, classy and well dressed. All in all i was pleasantly surpirsed, and I would definately recommend this place to students and those in the 18-30 age range!
This is a must for any Celtic fan in Dublin. We watched the final game of the season while in Dublin for weekend. What an atmosphere!! Even though the league was lost the party went on into the night. Bar staff were friendly and efficient. The only downside were the toilets but given the number of people in the place that was understandable - and in all fairness the staff cleaned them up after the match finished. A really relaxed environment altogether. Can't wait for my next visit!
This is the "Sportsbar" 4 all people who r not getting enough from all sports in the world. Go in and check out whats on the srceen.Perfect.And the beer is good aswell. All the best 2 the bhoys.
Spread over five floors frazers has everything you could want in a pub. With an award winning restaraunt on the ground floor Frazers is well worth a visit,be it just for a snack or a three course meal. Then upstairs to the music bar, which not only boasts a state of the art sound and lighting but also numerous screens for the sports fans among us.A MUST FOR BIG MATCH DAYS,CELTIC FANS ESPECIALLY!!!!!
Frazers is a good place to visit when you want a decent meal. It caters for all sport wise showing almost everything from Canadian Ice Hockey to English Cricket. A must go for any tourist if they want to experience the real Dublin feeling. What I enjoyed about the place was, that after our meal and few drinks, we could just walk upstairs to enjoy a night of music and dance till 2:30.
This is a rather diverse place to visit, as well as one of the places I have found, were the chefs can prepare a good BLUE steak... RSA style. They have live Irish music on certain nights, which is not amplified and does not disturb your quiet conversation while you enjoy your meal. One above the restaurant is the sports bar/disco bar. Here you can enjoy ANY sport you enjoy from baseball to wrestling, above that is a private function room of the same size
Frasers is fairly seedy upstairs. There's a labyrinth of small areas, each huddled around one of about 10 TV screens including one giant one. On a night of international football, it's like a united nations meeting upstairs because it's rare to find a pub showing international football matches on the same night as Ireland are playing. The bar is quite expensive and it can be difficult to get served as half the bar behind a pillar is a no go area for staff it seems, and the other half of the bar is taken up by TV watchers. There is a restaurant area down stairs with another large screen. This part seemed nicer but we didn't try it or the food so couldn't say for certain. It's not a place I'd go back to... unless there was a football match on that I really wanted to watch that wasn't on elsewhere.
