On the night of it's official re-launch, we paid a visit to the Fairview Inn to enjoy the party. From the outside, the Fairview Inn may look like a small place but it opens up on the inside and is a well laid out pub with little nooks and crannies and seating areas abundant. The long bar is ideal for swift service and the staff ensured everyone received a warm welcome.
A live band performed on the night with a special guest, Don Baker and the acoustics in the pub were great and the music added to the lively friendly atmosphere. The food which was been served looked and tasted fabulous while the drink lived up to the standards expected. There is a smoking area out the back to cater for smokers.
While the lounge area was packed, the bar area was rather empty and as such was a good place to take a break from the atmosphere and we even managed to throw some darts.
The Fairview Inn is truly a good pub and we hope to head back soon to catch some of the live bands at the weekends and enjoy the atmosphere it offered
I have been into The Fairview Inn many times over the years as I often stay in Fairview and I have seen how it has changed in that time. Any individuality that it had has been replaced and when it was last refurbished it was given the same makeover that has been applied to hundred of pubs all over Ireland. That said it is a pub that I always go into if I am nearby. It is a large pub that can get very crowded which must say something about how its customers view it. As it is not in the centre of Dublin it is frequented by locals and not normally by tourists like me. It is clean and relaxing place, when you can get a seat, and when the opportunity arises the bar staff will chat to you and make you feel welcome. The Guinness has always been pretty good whenever I have been in and they have an extensive range of food but I have yet to eat in there.
Whenever I return to my native Dublin it is always a pleasure to relax within the confines of the Fairview inn. Be it for lunch or an evening out with my friends, this well managed establishment always makes one feel welcome. If you want an excellent pint of Guinness or excellent pub fare you will not be disappointed. Try to fit it into your schedule on your next visit. It is worth the time spent.
