Review: Dakota is situated on South William Street and is perhaps one of the coolest pubs in Dublin. Lighting is dimmed down inside and with the top class music that is played this gives a chilled out atmosphere. The bar is long and you're never waiting long to be served by the cheerful barstaff. Pints are lovely and are not priced as bad as would be expected. It is very spacious and even though it does get crowded it's layout ensures it never gets cramped. Also, has a small outdoor seating area in the front for those hot summer days (and smokers). Trendy and stylish, Dakota is well worth a visit as it manages to carry it off unlike some pubs. - My ex Wyeth colleagues and myself thought it was great having been there a good few times now, laid back atmosphere, good music and some cool, beautiful and interesting people, what more could you ask for. Doormen were courteous, barstaff quick and friendly. A place to meet and have a great time with friends without getting crushed. Check it out.
- This is a really nice trendy laid out pub. Bar staff are quite friendly, only problem the beer they serve is not great and far too expensive. Couple that with ignorant doormen with outrageous dress codes when it suits them giving me a reason to unfortunately never return. Also gets far too packed at the weekend, very nice in the afternoon though, shame about the beer.
- I disagree with the other reviews, Dakota is one of the few places I've never been stopped by doormen, even when people are well on there way and messing a little bit they don't over react like most othe doormen do, It is a bit expensive but what pub in town is'nt? Barstaff are ok too and the music is good
- On the outset this looks like a very nice pub/club, with modern decor and plenty of seats. However my two main concerns were the insane cider pricing, coupled with the fact that the pint I got in there of Bulmers tasted like someone wrung out wee from a sock. Also I never saw so many uncomfortable people trying to look cool in my life!
- Young 20 somethings (rich students spring to mind) seem to make up the clientele. More muted than most pubs, it has relaxed air about it. Initially I was impressed by this spot but I've received a couple of emails from people who've not been impressed with this place which gives cause for dropping a mark. Bad barmen and high handed doormen were the problem. | ||
