The Monkey Gland takes its name from the work of Russian doctor Serge Voronoff, director of experimental surgery at the Laboratory of Physiology of the Collge de France, this drink
will make you think you feel better, even if you really don't.
It got it's name from the humours that 'drinking' monkeys glands prolongs your life something
which the Doctor Serge gave to his rams and it seemed to work.
Anyways, it was most likely invented by Mr.Harry MacElhone of Harrys New York Bar in
Paris. Ever since there have been 'arguments' over the use of anise as both absinthe
and Pernod make adequate substitutes - it's up to you.
One ounce Gin
An ounce orange juice ,
A dash of both anise and grenadine.
Shake with cracked ice and serve up!
